Hot Mic'd: Pence makes a sex joke, term limits in play, boy math is toxic af
Why watch reality TV when you can just tune into politics? That’s how we felt running the tapes on the GOP debate. We also wanted to know how many times each of them practiced their “zingers”.....
This week’s political rose goes to… Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer for signing into law banning child marriage in the state [and also to all of the advocates that made this happen]. This made Michigan the 10th state to do so, which is a big W, but also like helloooo?? Anyone home?? @ the 40 other states that haven’t made moves on this. Hopefully they take this as a hint – you can also tell your state legislators to get a move on with these tools, and get up on which states are dragging their feet with our eppy feat. Unchained At Last’s Fraidy Reiss. - SK This week’s political thorn goes to… Senator Menendez. Hands down. My additional words on the subject are this and this. - SK An example of boy math that keeps me up at night is… That time Senator Manchin stopped the childcare tax credit in its tracks and now we’re in the midst of an even larger child care crisis. Great calculation sir – just dandy. - SK This tidbit absolutely sent me into oblivion: Pence saying on national tv that he’s been sleeping with a teacher for 38 years…….. Like we’re bringing mother into this why? But also, just cringe at the misogyny vibes that started with Christie…. Truly like watching a car crash. - SK | This week’s political rose goes to… Biden on the picket line. Like, okay, super casual, just the first sitting president to join a picket line in support of unions and the labor movement. So symbolic in so many ways, and so needed in the face of these GOP candidates literally bragging about how anti-union they are. Not the flex they think it is…. - MM This week’s political thorn goes to… welp Kari Lake is planning to run for Senate in AZ… so that's not great. Just a conspiracy theorist who loves a lawsuit gunning for a critical seat. Deep breaths, deep breaths. - MM An example of boy math that keeps me up at night is… Shutting down the government because of a bunch of right-wing conspiracy theorists and thinking that having the hundreds of thousands of government workers, military personnel, and hardworking Americans suffer for it is going to solve the problem. - MM This tidbit absolutely sent me into oblivion: Cassidy Hutchinson saying in her new book that Trump was against masks during the panny because his bronzer got onto the masks. The man wouldn’t wear a mask because of vanity, which created a mass anti-mask campaign that resulted in people dying from COVID-19 – of course. - MM |
The show goes on!
Term limits, term limits, term limits – we need ‘em and this Congressman from California agrees:
On this week’s episode, we chatted with Congressman Ro Khanna on not just the need for term limits, but for who they are needed, and how to get it done. There’s a five point plan that comes into play and an outfit change request. Listen in and download episodes on Apple Podcasts and Spotify Podcasts.

The Wall of Shame…
This week’s feature of heinousity goes to this guy who doesn’t know the difference between a mascara and an eye liner:
Our response: This rant.
TikToks we’ve been sending each other include…
This interpretation of Hunter Biden’s woes.
This look at how a gov shutdown will impact fat bear week. Need we also say pandapalooza?!
Hill fits slaying with this spotlight feat the pink tweed dress of our dreams. We couldn’t find the OG on the interwebs, but this dress is also gorg and similar in vibe.
This Traylor breakdown vid – tbh we’ve been sharing five million of them between us, but this one is gold.
The one and only Delegate Young doing our content trend suggestion – screaming like the fangirls that we are, it’s fineeeeeee.
