An action item you can do from your phone is… signing this petition telling the GOP to repeal laws that don’t allow pregnant women to get a divorce – yes, that’s a real thing in several states including Missouri, Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas. -SK A positive news story on my radar… first of all, this week has been BIG time on the good news, and we love to see it. One of those stories is the fact that the Biden-Harris admin is canceling student loan debt for 78,000 public service workers. It’s giving delivering on campaign promises even when SCOTUS tries to get in your way. -SK Something I’m excited for… is this Indian restaurant opening in the city this weekend called Bungalow that. The second reservations open on the 25th, I’ll be grabbing one!!! -SK A story that needs more eyes… the House GOP releasing a budget that would ban abortion nationwide and nix access to IVF…oh, and raise the social security retirement age. -SK Someone that’s made the ick list… is a Nebraska lawmaker who pulled this shit, which has people on both sides of the aisle telling him to exit stage left. -SK | An action item you can do from your phone is… signing this petition demanding SCOTUS not to limit access to abortion, specifically Mifi. SCOTUS is hearing THAT case on the 26th. -MM A positive news story on my radar… is about asbestos, which honestly I thought was totally a goner forever, but apparently not. Regardless, the EPA finally banned the use of the cancer causer. Literally BAIIIII. -MM Something I’m excited for… the Savannah Bananas are on fire, sooo whatever they drop next on TikTok. I know we’ve been trying to figure out how to go to the Congressional Baseball game, but like how do we get to one of their games… -MM A story that needs more eyes… the special election in Alabama for a state house seat who is running on abortion – specifically on repealing the state’s abortion ban. Abortion is the issue of 2024, sorry economy (although abortion is an economic issue, but you get my point). PS the election is on the 26th. -MM Someone that’s made the ick list… is this former leader of the Charleston County Republican Party literally hitting a pedestrian with his rover. Need I say more? I think not. -MM |
