Hot Mic'd: A lying FBI informant, pickleball, and a presidential meet-cute
“It’s a liar, liar, GOP pants on fire moment” – us on the House GOP basing the Hunter Biden investigation on a lie
A story that can absolutely not fall under the radar is… Oh, Idk maybe the fact that an FBI informant has been charged with lying to his handler about connections between Biden, Hunter, and Ukrainian energy company, Burisma. If you’ve also read one of my favorite books, Lessons From The Edge by Marie Yovanovitch, this will not surprise you AT ALL. Regardless, it’s a liar, liar, GOP pants on fire moment. -SK A song I’ve been listening to on repeat is… TEXAS HOLD ‘EM OBVI!! Now that Beyoncé has entered the country sphere, I NEED her to do a collab with my fave, BRELAND. It would just be SO good. -SK A political moment that made me LOL was… The GOP’s Matt Rosendale dropping out of his race for Senate in Montana after just six days. Trump endorsed his equally scary opponent, so is it shocking? No. Is it still worth a chuckle? Yes. -SK A recent purchase I’m vibing with is… the wet n’wild cooling hydra depuffer for eyes. It’s under $5.00, and as someone who wakes up looking like a puffer fish, I’m a fan. It feels ~chill~ when you put it on. -SK A political happening that’s a W… The amount of ways the Biden-Harris admin has been getting creative and working with the blocks they have to bring student debt relief is beyond. Throughout the last year, they’ve been chipping away at solutions and they just dropped another – the White House has unveiled a new plan to expand student debt relief, which according to Politico would, “create a one-time debt relief program that would automatically cancel debt in circumstances where its data suggests that borrowers are at least 80% likely to default on their debt within the next two years.” Hearings on the proposal will happen next week – fingers crossed.” -SK An action item I checked off the list was… Y’all know how much AI freaks me out and its misuse is only proving my point. SO, I signed a petition encouraging the passing of the Preventing Deep Fakes of Intimate Images Act. Sign it too, here. -SK | A story that can absolutely not fall under the radar is… WELL, Trump sharing that he would encourage Putin to attack NATO, and then DOUBLING down on it with a mafia-style ‘if you don’t pay up, we’re not going to protect you’ rant at a campaign rally, would be top of the list for me. He has done and does so many horrible things, we’re collectively used to being numb to it or not being able to process that he means what he says, but he does, point blank. -MM A song I’ve been listening to on repeat is… In Your Love by my guy Tyler Childers! BTW Tyler Childers is also the fave of this candidate and GATG guest, so I am not alone in my obsession TYSM. - MM A political moment that made me LOL was… LOL might not be the best way to describe my feeling with this… would it be cringing? Head shaking? I’m not sure, but Putin trolling sucker-for-autocrats and conspiracy theory lover, Tucker Carlson, had me making some particularly interesting facial expressions. -MM A recent purchase I’m vibing with is… since pickle ball has taken over the world, PLAY HENRY pickle ball paddles. One of my friends started the company (okay, genius, I see you) and I looove it (and so did Claud – hi, fellow Toasters). They do custom, which means you can really make your paddle whatever you want it to be. Low key would be so smart for a bach party…. -MM A political happening that’s a W… In Nebraska, a state senator introduced a bill that would ban out-of-state hedge funds and other corporate entities from buying up single-family properties, which has been a huge issue not just in Nebraska – really across the country. The state level bill hits similar to Rep. Khanna’s Stop Wall Street Landlords Act. -MM An action item I checked off the list was… given that planes seem to be losing doors mid-flight and missing the mark on safety, I put my name on this petition, urging the FAA to implement stricter safety checks for planes. Feels like idk… the bare min they could do?? Anyways, add your name to the petition too, here. -MM |
